USB Gecko - Using the Gamecube Memory Card Tool for GCS and GCI saves

USB Gecko allows you to download, upload and erase game Gamecube saves which are stored on a memory card in Slot A of the console. It is compatible with the popular GCI and GCS (gameshark save game types for Gamecube games. It is also useful for backing up save games to the PC.

To use the memory card tool follow the below steps:

1. Make sure the USB Gecko is connected and Gecko OS is loaded, and your memory card is inserted into Slot A of the console. If you dont yet have Gecko OS set up, read the set up guide first.

2. Now download and run the Gecko Card executable from here or the download section. Once downloaded double click the Icon and you will see the application running like the screen below. Before using, you must go to the USB menu in the tool bar and click connect.

3. List: You must list the files on the memory card before performing any other task, so you need to click the List Memory Card button which will show you all the game save files on the card.

4. Save: If you want to save a file to the PC as GCI format just highlight the save and click the 'Save GCI File' button. You will then be asked where to save the file on your PC. Once you have clicked save the file will be backed up to your hard drive.

5. Upload: if you would like to upload a save game, you just simply click the 'Upload GCI file' button and select your save to upload. Gameshark (GCS) save game format is also supported and can be selected from the types of files.

6. Erase: To erase a save, list the contents and highlight the save you want to delete. Note: This is not recoverable and we are not responsible for lost save games, so please be careful.

Resources: You can find alot of cheat GCI format saves at the Gamefaqs website. Game Shark saves can be found at the GameShark website.
